When you go to a Colonial school to register your child, please bring the following information:

Proof of birth date (child's original birth certificate)
Proof of immunizations (including proof of Hepatitis-B immunization and lead screening)
Proof of address (current gas, water or electric bill, home lease or title)
Proof of guardianship/custody, where appropriate
If your child is coming from a different school beyond the kindergarten level, please bring a copy of a recent report card from the previous school.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

All Kindergarten classes in the Colonial School District are full day.

You can register at any elementary school in the Colonial School District during school hours. Children who will be five years old on or before August 31 of the current year, are eligible to attend kindergarten. To register a child, parents must bring the child’s original birth certificate, immunization record (including proof of Hepatitis-B immunization and lead screening), a physical or one scheduled, and at least one proof of residence (current gas, water or electric bill, home lease or title).

EARLY ADMISSION TO KINDERGARTEN

To enter kindergarten, a child must have reached his or her fifth birthday on or before August 31 of the year of entrance. The Superintendent may make an exception to the age requirement in unique circumstances for a talented and gifted student whose fifth birthday falls between September 1st and November 30th. A request for such an exception and the required documentation will be processed by a committee coordinated by the Director of Schools and must be received by July 1 of the current year.
