William Penn High School
About William Penn
We are a community of approximately 2200 students and 200 professional and support staff working together to prepare young people for the demands of the 21st century. William Penn is a four-year comprehensive high school accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. It is designed to prepare students for further formal education or for the workplace with the understanding that lifelong learning will be a necessity for all. The school offers a highly-trained, veteran staff; award-winning programs; a wide range of extra-curricular activities; and the latest technology - all of which are essential to our mission. Many graduates go on to attend and successfully complete programs at four-year colleges and two-year trade or technical schools. Each year, seniors are awarded scholarships that total over one million dollars. Students benefit from local colleges and businesses through many partnerships such as the Work Study Program, Communities in Schools, Jobs for Delaware Graduates, and the Tech Prep program. William Penn provides a full-time career counselor to assist students with educational and employment decisions to supplement the traditional guidance program. The staff and students of William Penn High School are proud of their strong tradition of excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities.
